Ore Creek Veterinary Clinic Staff

Kathleen Gannon, DVM

Dr. Kathleen Gannon is the owner and chief veterinarian of Ore Creek Veterinary Clinic of Hartland. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Michigan State University in 2001. Her favorite areas of veterinary medicine are clinical diagnosis and soft tissue surgery.

Her decision to purchase Ore Creek Veterinary Clinic was based on her desire to provide topshelf veterinary medicine with a smalltown touch.

Dr. Gannon enjoys working closely with her patients and developing a long-term client-doctor relationship. Living and working in the same community allows her to see her patients and clients around town.

You will see Dr. Gannon around the Hartland area with her husband and four children. Dr. Gannon and her family have lots of dogs, plenty of horses, one cat and a small aquarium.

Melanie Leonard, Licensed Veterinary Technician

Melanie Leonard is the chief cook and bottle-washer at Ore Creek Veterinary Clinic. She has worked in a veterinary hospital since high school. Dr. Gannon had known and worked with Melanie for four years before Melanie came to Companion Animal Hospital in 2007.

Aside from that, she is a Licensed Veterinary Technician. She received her degree from Macomb Community College in 2007. In order to receive your Veterinary Technician license, you must pass a rigorous state academic and practical exam.

Melanie brings her red dog "Ember Sue" to work every day and enjoys working with owners and their pets.

Katie Hartlep, Licensed Veterinary Technician

Kathryn "Katie" Hartlep is our other Licensed Veterinary Technician. She completed her degree at Baker College. After earning her degree she easily passed the state academic and practical exam.

Katie originally came to Ore Creek Veterinary Clinic during one of her school internships and has never left. Katie has two dogs, Fritz and Scout.

She truly enjoys working with the rescue dogs and kittens that come through the door.
